The following information was pulled from public documents. Republican Tom McClintock, running for Congress, is in trouble with the Federal Campaign Commission. McClintock just made a Panic Dump from his state 2010 account for his future run for governor, to some "charities" that were anything but...

3. Schedule A of your report indicates that your committee may have failed to file one or more required 48 hour notices regarding "last minute" contributions ... after the close of the books for the 12 Day Pre Primary Election report (see attached). Interpretation of above: McClintock's campaign has been spending a lot of money, which he is not officially acknowledging as having received. Despite repeated attempts by the Federal Elections Commission to find out how much, his amended filings do not explain the where it's coming from or where it really went. 4 months later, McClintock still cannot come up with a coherent explanation of what happened between April 1, 2008, and June 30, 2008.
_______
The McClintock coping mechanism for this:
On October 7, McClintock's spokesperson, Bill George, claimed that McClintock had given $ 51,000 of his CA State 2010 account for future political runs to "charity." Those donations occurred before the Sept 30 Quarterly deadline. But those "charity" organizations in at least 2 instances contain campaign consultants who have been working to elect him. $20,000 is was given to Cherish CA's Children, treasurer John Stoos, a longtime McClintock consultant, manager, and spokesperson. It is not used for childcare but slate mailers and picketing, as "Cherish" is an anti abortion group. $6,000 was given to Capitol Resource Institute, an "issues advocacy group" (remember when they used to be called lobbyists?) directed by Karen England, which has Rep. John Doolittle, McClintock, CA State Sen. Sam Aanestad, and Ken Campbell on the board. Both Campbell and Stoos have been regularly blogging for McClintock. England has also routinely put out PR for McClintock. Both "charities" actually are pushing wedge issue propositions in this election.
Federal Law prohibits state campaign accounts from being used for Federal elections. As shown above, McClintock's campaign has been making many unexplained expenditures.
The 3rd charity donation trail is more complex, the $25,000 allegedly given to Acres of Hope, as Acres is a real shelter, but was founded by a former VP of Chevron Oil. A Chevron PAC has given McClintock $2000 so far this cycle (that number could go up in a day or two with another filing due) and the Oil and Gas industry has donated at least $19,000 to McClintock via his FEDERAL accounts, per Open Secrets.org. But McClintock also has Oil and Gas industry donations on his state accounts. Acres of Hope is also affiliated with Bayside Church, which is State Assemblyman Ted Gaine's church. Ted Gaines, who has nobody running against him this year for re election, recently donated $30,200 to the CA Republican Party, the second time he's done it this cycle, so that's $60,400 to be used to help elect Republicans statewide. And Ted Gaines also has ChevronTexaco donations on his state account for this election cycle, $1000 and $1000. Ted Gaines has no opponent in this election.
Ted Gaines has also made many donations in this election cycle to "Save Our Kids" which was an attempt to get a ballot initiative on the ballot that would overturn anti discrimination law in CA. "Capitol Resource Family Impact" which was running the "Save Our Kids," suspended that initiative work, opting to instead go with another proposition with the intent of overturning another Supreme Court decision outlawing discrimination in this election, which is being pushed by the Capitol Resource Institute, the Doolittle McClintock Campbell England political advocacy group that McClintock made his "charity" donation to. That would be Proposition 8, the marriage discrimination proposition seeking to ban some people from marrying. Comparing the 2 sites, "Capitol Resource Family Impact" looks exactly like "Capitol Resource Institute" and has the same address, and they are basically the same.
Ted Gaines has also made an in- kind donation to the Capitol Resource Institute. (aka Doolittle McClintock Aanestad Campbell and England)
Ted Gaines has also given $5000 to the "National Tax Limititation Foundation", which has Lew Uhler as President. Uhler is also a member of MOVE AMERICA FORWARD, which is doing the Swiftboating hanging effigy ad targeting Charlie Brown.
Ted Gaines, on March 14, 2008, made a "loan" of $3,600 to the Friends of Dan Logue (for assembly ) account. Why the very well funded Dan Logue would need a loan is a complete mystery. This date coincides with Tom McClintock starting his primary campaign tour. It is already known, from examining his state account expenditures, that Dan Logue has made other campaign appearances with Tom McClintock earlier this year, in May, and paid for the speaker's fee and expenses of the Secure the Borders tour. I wrote about this previously in a story posted at Calitics.
In other words, without writing an entire novel, Ted Gaines, with no opponent this election, is helping to pay for Tom McClintock's Federal campaign via his donations to others, using his state account.
McClintock makes a big donation to Gaine's charity, right before the September Quarterly deadline. Gaines has made lots of donations to groups that are supporting McClintock via various religious organizations pushing propositions. It could be that those religious groups are getting handouts in their church bulletins suggesting voting preferences. There was a front page article in the Sacramento Bee this week about how members of certain churches are making very large individual donations to the organizations pushing the wedge issue, pro discrimination proposition. (22 million dollars total so far) There was an article in the Auburn journal last month about how Acres of Hope was suffering from a drop in donations. $25,000 divided by $22 million is .0011 , or just over 1 one thousandth.
It bears repeating:
Interpretation of above: McClintock's campaign has been spending a lot of money, which he is not officially acknowledging as having received. Despite repeated attempts by the Federal Elections Commission to find out how much, his amended filings do not explain the where it's coming from or where it really went. 4 months later, McClintock still cannot come up with a coherent explanation of what happened between April 1, 2008, and June 30, 2008.
Hence that McClintock Great Big Emergency Panic "Charity" Dump of September 2008. Somebody give the man a tax deduction, stat !
McClintock did this earlier in this campaign, when he gifted his own Care Republic issues group another "charity" donation. That one does his email fundraising.
McClintock's Public Relations people like to portray him as a "Budget Expert."
We have "rules" for this, call "campaign finance limits and laws." Mr. Does Not Play Well With Others also does not Spend Well with Others, or Spends Too Well with Others, depending on how you wish to interpret it.
The Clock Is Ticking On Tom McClintock's Desperate Funding Strategy.
Spin it.

Dan Logue's state filings this cycle. Note extraordinary amount paid to one individual, Tony Siciliani, over $60,000, which turns out to be for a Sacramento printer who does slate mailers for other Southern CA politicians. Note the payments to "Secured Borders Consulting" and Jim Gilchrist of the Minutemen, also.

Even Logue has taken money from Chevron Oil lobbyists, see his list of late expenditures from this cycle

He's also taken money from Phillip Morris, the tobacco company, $3,600 , and of course, he's taken Casino money, which is fine, I expect the Republicans to be doing this, but I have had his supporters SWEAR to me he does not, and they tell me he's told them he would never do that and he's anti casino, which is..... interesting. He also takes Walmart money, as Logue is a real estate developer who worked the land deal out for the Walmart up by Linda and Marysville.

SECOND UPDATE
Charlie Brown will be in North Lake Tahoe tonight, Wed 15th, at 5:30 pm at the N Lake Tahoe Conference Center in King's Beach, for Candidate's night. This has been posted on his site events schedule for days. Here is Brown's event schedule: http://www.charliebrownforcongress.o...
Saturday is a district wide Day of Action. There is also a BBQ and Town Hall meeting in Quincy, and a Truckee House Party.
The latest stunt by the McClintock campaign is to have their blogger or cohorts put up last minute or same day posts on the Republican blogs, saying Brown is going to instead be somewhere else, and then when this obviously is NOT the case, accuse him of a last minute cancelation. Then berating him for avoiding McClintock. This happened again last night and this morning.
These schedules are made far in advance and the McClintock campaign, as we have seen again and again, either does not adhere to what they post on their own website, lies about the whereabouts of their candidate, (this has happened to me and others ) or they put up their own events with only 24 hour notice.
A representative of the Brown campaign will be at the McClintock event tonight to help show McClintock for the fool he is, before the Presidential debate viewing at William Jessup in Rocklin. I hope this clears up who is where.
This is extremely unprofessional conduct on the part of the Republicans in this campaign.
