I can't claim credit for this. Alaska-sized kudos to diarist Marzapan in Mudflats, who writes,
I can't believe this isn't getting more attention.

I agree. More below the fold.
Re Wikipedia and for those who don't know,
Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day or Emancipation Day, is an official annual holiday in 29 [snip] states of the United States. Celebrated on June 19, it commemorates the announcement of the abolition of slavery in Texas.
Moreover, 29 states, including Alaska, and the District of Columbia recognize
Juneteenth as either a state holiday or state holiday observance [Wikipedia, same entry].
Gwendolyn Alexander, the President of the African American Historical Society of Alaska, made a statement chronicling Palin's blatant disrespect of this important celebration.
Gov. Palin was the first governor not to send out a congratulatory letter or assist us in any way with our Juneteenth activities.
First governor ever! And, and, it gets better. In the same statement Ms. Alexander notes that,
While meeting with Black leaders concerning the absence of any African Americans on her staff, Gov. Palin responded that she doesn't have to hire any Blacks and was not intending to hire any. What kind of attitude is this toward African American for who may be the first Vice-President of the United States? [Ms. Alexander's emphasis]

Now, given the problematic content of her campaign speeches, the thinly veiled racist rhetoric and hate-mongering, I believe as Ill Doctrine so eloquently puts it in
"How to Tell People They Sound Racist"
that we need to call her out on this.
What do you all think?
Postscript: Again, props to Marzapan of Mudflats. I lifted it because I believe this needs huge exposure and the Kossacks can deliver.
