This is a short diary about something I thought was important.
The Bay Area CBS affiliate is reporting on an Obama sign in Sacramento which was defaced with racial slurs. The owner of the sign has decided to leave the vandalism in place:
Despite the graphic nature of the slurs, he planned to leave the vandalism untouched for now, believing it would serve a bigger purpose than painting over it.
What a bold and powerful statement! The ugliness and hatred seething out of this election needs to be exposed and not swept under the rug. And, all too often, I feel that we Californians deny the existence of racism.
I applaud these courageous folks who are turning small-minded and racist attacks into a visible and important statement.
