Bloomberg reported today that Goldman Sach CEO Lloyd Blankfein, whose company just hoovered up $10 billion of the $700 billion Wall Street bailout, is going to keep his $70 million pay for 2008.
Here is the e-mail I sent my Congressman. Please send one to yours.
The Wall Street pay limits in the bailout bill you voted for were toothless. You were fooled and deceived if you thought otherwise, or at best put in a blackmail position: vote for a Wall Street bailout that is horrible, or do nothing which might be even worse.
Today Bloomberg reported that Goldman Sach’s CEO is still going to get his $70 million in pay this year despite the fact his company was just handed $10 billion from the $700 billion package.

Given that you helped pass this monstrosity of a Wall Street bailout, as your constituent and someone who just cast an absentee vote for you, I request you to go to the floor of the house attacking this huge payout that is 2,000 times more than an average American makes in a year, and a 100 times more than a lot of people will earn over their entire life.
Please also propose a second law on CEO pay that actually has some force to it.
