A couple threads ago, Trapper John said this:
Barack Obama Is a Phenomenally Cool Guy. Nothing can ruffle Barack Obama.
I must agree and endorse the sentiment. And the contrast becomes all the stronger as McCain continues his furious blinking and enters the lizard-tongue-jut portion of the evening.
Via one of my co-workers, isn't it interesting how having a child with Down syndrome makes Sarah Palin an expert on autism being on the rise.
Obama talks about the importance of green jobs -- building, for instance, fuel-efficient cars in the US. Yes! [Ed.: Lightbulbs, too, please.]
McCain comes to one of his clearly rehearsed lines of the night: (paraphrasing) "I do so admire Senator Obama's eloquence. BUT..." then basically changes subject while pretending that's not what he's doing.
McCain bizarrely hitting Obama for not having been "south of the border." Obama hits back with labor leaders having been targeted for assassination. Wow. None of us in this room thought he'd go there. We like it.
Please tell me that McCain's loud inhalations will be reported a la Al Gore's sighs in 2000.
