In what might be the knockout punch Sen. John McCain wanted and needed so badly tonight, the Republican nominee boldly and forcefully declared that he is "not President Bush."
The audience at home and in the auditorium saw Sen. Obama blink in disbelief when McCain made his courageous statement.
Pundits and undecided Ohio voters alike were stunned by the Arizona Senator's courage and full-throated affirmation of self-hood.
Still, some observers were unconvinced.
"It sounded good, but I don't know," said one still-undecided Ohio voter. "I mean, when was the last time you saw Bush and McCain in the same room together? I can't remember the last time that happened. What's up with that, you know?"
