Don't know if anyone has yet caught this but during the debate Wednesday night John McCain indicated plans for a dangerous and potentially deadly policy under a McCain Administration.
While responding to the question on healthcare, McCain said, per CNN transcript:
Now, 95 percent of the people in America will receive more money under my plan because they will receive not only their present benefits, which may be taxed, which will be taxed, but then you add $5,000 onto it, except for those people who have the gold-plated Cadillac insurance policies that have to do with cosmetic surgery and transplants and all of those kinds of things.
Does McCain really mean that only the wealthiest Americans who can afford the "gold-plated Cadillac" policies will be able to have organ transplants covered by insurance under his healthcare plan? That's a death sentence for most on the transplant list.
Or did McCain mean to say IMplant instead of TRANSplant? If that's indeed what he intended, does that mean that devices like my Automatic Implantable Cardioverter Device (AICD) will not be covered? I have to get the thing replaced every five years or so due to battery depletion and now, unless I have a "gold-plated Cadillac" policy no more AICD replacement under McCain? That's like a death sentence for me.
The man needs to be called on this.
