Finally...AND THE ROCK MEANS FINALLY...the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) has put some skin into the close game between Jim Martin and Republican Saxby Chambliss.
The Atlanta Journal Constitution has obtained a copy of the newest ad from the DSCC criticizing Chambliss for his support of the Fair Tax, a proposal that would replace all federal income taxes with a single national retail sales tax [Source: Atlanta Journal Constitution, "The DSCC enters the U.S. Senate race, and the issue is the Fair Tax", October 15, 2008].
The Atlanta Journal Constitution also reports that the DSCC might be increasing its spending on Georgia's Senate race to $1 million.
In case you're wondering, that's just $600,000 less than the DSCC spent in 2002 on Max Cleland's re-election campaign.
