"Joe the Plumber" liar or idiot?
Now I know many people will say I'm being harsh. Or that my title is being deliberately antagonistic. You might be are right. I am just so tired of the right-wing bullshit. And while the media might be willing to 'believe' that Joe Wurzelbacher is an undecided voter who just wants some information. It doesn't take much more than 30 seconds of information gathering to realize that is a crock.
When "Joe the Plumber" was first mentioned and it was stated that he might not be able to buy the plumbing business because of the higher taxes over $250,000 I thought, "Is he a fucking idiot". Who wouldn't do a job or run a business just because he might have to pay a little bit more in tax on the amount he makes above $250,000. But after that uncharitable thought I started to think maybe he didn't realize that the $250,000 was after expenses. Maybe he thought that he would pay tax on all his revenue not just net income.
Well thank you, Joe Wurzelbacher, for putting that thought to rest. It appears isn't worried about Obama's tax plan at all. He just appears to think that Democrats will raise his taxes, from Reuters.
Reuters-Andy Sullivan
Wurzelbacher told ABC he's "not even close" to earning $250,000, but worried that Obama would increase taxes for those making less.
And then this little gem.
"You see my house. I don't have a lot of bells and whistles in here, really. My truck's a couple of years old and I'm going to have it for the next 10 years, probably. So I don't see him (Obama) helping me out."
The stupid it burns. And of course the Traditional Media is doing its usual wonderful job of making sure people understand that what Joe 'believes' in his heart isn't actually connected to reality. NOT. Its seems that if "Joe the Plumber" says it then well by golly that's good enough for the MSM. I guess we should be used to this. The TM being the useful tool of the Republican party. And maybe I shouldn't be calling JtP a liar, maybe he is just an idiot, a useful idiot for McCain. But I'm tired of the stupidity and the fact that the stupidity is encouraged by the TM. And while JtP may be too stupid to realize he is lying the reporters aren't that stupid.
So while this started as a little rant against JtP it really is a rant against the TM. No wonder the U.S. has been an idiocracy the last eight years. When the JtPs voices are given the same weight as the real experts what else can we expect. Thank god for the blogosphere and DailyKos.
