Over at Slate, John Dickerson remains in a dither over Obama's supposed ducking of John Lewis' remarks. Here's what I would tell Johnny Mac about John Lewis:
"While you were partying in Pensacola and crashing jets in the Caribbean, John Lewis was risking his neck on Freedom Rides and getting his head stoved in by an Alabama mob. If he says that the worst aspects of your campaign remind him of George Wallace race-baiting, maybe you ought to listen. As it is, the sight of a 30-year veteran of national politics whining that Lewis' remarks were 'hurtful' is pathetic."
