I know the title may read or appear as a little community "self-gluttony" here, but the truth must be spoken.
The fact that Jed Lewison is apart of the site's front page, along with the long awaited Youtube Channel, is indeed a great move by Mr.Moulitsas and his staff.
Ass kissing Cheesy Approbation aside, I wondered when this site would start having a Youtube page or a video report? Now, those thoughts have materialized.
First, before praise is continued to be given to "Kos & friends," I must also heap another thumbs up again to "that one".
Literally, this man is everywhere(and what is so funny is that FOX, FOX, has to make way for his sports loving self):
To accommodate the half-hour October 29 time buy by the Obama campaign, Major League Baseball has agreed to move the start time of World Series Game 6 by about 15 minutes, from about 8:20 p.m. ET to 8:35 p.m.
"Fox will accommodate Senator Obama's desire to communicate with voters in this longform format," Fox Sports said in a statement. "We are pleased that Major League Baseball has agreed to delay the first pitch of World Series Game 6 for a few minutes in order for Fox to carry his program on October 29. If requested, the network would be willing to make similar time available to Senator McCain's campaign."
I wouldn't be shocked to see this in today's Midday Open Thread (wink, wink, nod, nod.
Already, Obama ads have been all over the sports world. And as a sports journalist first before any other scribe, this has been an amazing site to see because no politician has done that before in my 21 years on this Earth. And I don't think no one has done it before 1987. Literally buying ad time on ESPN or during major sporting events.
ESPN's "College Gameday" (before the big Texas-Oklahoma game) is one of the network's most popular shows, and "SportsCenter" is the Disney conglomerate's biggest show of course. And they funny enough have something in common, besides sports of course, with FOX's NFL Sunday and MLB's Postseason Coverage .
They all showed the same Obama ad during their national commercial breaks.
So much is sports a big part of that Chitown balling Senators life that All-NBA point guard Chris Paul gets into the mix for Obama:
Though Paul's endorsement for Obama is not major news (like a London Times endorsing Obama), I am a little surprised however at how there has been no formal introduction on the front page with regards to Jed's arrival and the creation of the DK Youtube channel. Hopefully that will happen soon , and if not, that's fine. Because the most important thing has been done already.
Mr.Lewison has been clearly one of the more valuable figures in this election year. From exposing CBS and Katie Couric in July, to having the CNN's story about the AIP Secessionists stay on before Time Warner happily submitted yet again to the Thuglicans and McAngry just a few days ago, Jed has certainly fed us with videos of quality embed (that rhymes by the way).
A diligent worker, and although I don't know him personally, a seemingly great guy, it is certainly great to have him on the front page at the Kos.
From TWD, PEACE and have a great day!
From Rolfyboy6, this informative reply:
Typically, Kos doesn't shill new additions much
He installs programs, methods, and people and then they are put to work and then format is improved. He'll refer to something new as "beta." There have been things (and once or twice people) that didn't work out and they have been removed. Kos is a developer and publisher and has a larger view of site development. He seems to take an organic view. Standby for more development after the election and the huge spike in traffic at that time. In the quiet time of the holidays stuff will get brought out for testing. Most stuff will be ready for when we begin the policy wars next spring.
Thank you good sir.
