Tears literally were in my eyes as I started to mark my ballot this week. Eight years of grinding my teeth, four years of wearing only black(under garments don't count), two years of mourning for what the democratic congress failed to do, five months of volunteering, 125 voters registered, countless miles canvassed, and finally one vote cast.
Early voting in New Mexico started in selective areas 10/7/08 and in wider sites tomorrow 10/18/08. Finding the polling place was easy with google maps and some helpful signs:
The day was beautiful, clear sky and a tiny hint of yellow aspens on the mountain as we pulled into the parking area:
There were about twenty other voters there, plenty of help, including bilingual poll workers. The polling place was the warehouse for the polling booths:
After voting, as is tradition, we were off to lunch at The Range(two photos of Obama's visit on the wall).
