From One Wisconsin Now, a video asking the question: Who Would J.B. Van Hollen Disenfranchise?
Van Hollen, Wisconsin's Republican attorney general and co-chair of the McCain-Palin campaign in Wisconsin, is suing to try to -- guess what? -- challenge hundreds of thousands of legally registered voters.
One Wisconsin Now, an advocacy group, is fighting back with a Save Wisconsin's Vote campaign that includes a petition asking Van Hollen to drop the lawsuit.
Van Hollen has filed a suit against the State of Wisconsin that would force local municipalities to check voter's information against other state databases, like the Dept. of Motor Vehicles. If a voter's information does not PERFECTLY match the database, Van Hollen wants to throw that voter off the rolls, meaning that hundreds of thousands of Wisconsinites could be dropped from the rolls and forced to re-register, making voting much more difficult.
Van Hollen's own records don't match, a Milwaukee blogger found, and four of six members of the Government Accountability Board, which oversees elections, had the same problem. The board is the defendant in the the lawsuit by Van Hollen.
