Fellow Citizens; Sojourners for Hope, Change, and Truth; Seekers of Treasure; Candidates for Public Office; and Friends;
I sat down Friday evening last, alongside my dear wife, and as paterfamilias to my 10-year-old progeny, and partook of the adventures of one Ulysses Everett McGill and his traveling companions Pete and Delmar. for anyone not familiar, their travels and trvails are recounted in the motion picture O Brother Where Art Thou (a certain classic for the ages).
With a fire in the hearth and a pleasing odor wafting from the warm light (half the point, should you ask yours truly), the evening set out falteringly with several interruptions from the squabbling children of ages 7 and 2½. Once time had passed for their retirement, set deliberately earlier than our own, for reasons familiar to any parent, our trio was able to enjoy the latter half of the presentation nearly uninterrupted.
As the conclusion of the exciting tale moved ever closer, events within the unfolding story reminded me of certain real-life events happening at just this time. If you care to seek the treasure with me, come along...
In our story, our three wandering heroes and their recent companion are poised to access the biggest social event of the season sub rosa, as wanted fugitives from justice. They have recorded a song, which unbeknownst to them, has found favor with the regional listening public, and in their disguises as performers, they embark upon a live version, to the delight of the assembled gentry. As they reach the final measures, however, the challenger in the state governor's race takes the microphone, and begins to make accusations. Although seemingly leading in the polls, the challenger is nonetheless compelled to reveal some facts regarding himself that may be better left under wraps. But take a gander for yourself, good readers (I apologize for the lack of direct access to our apropos media source, but we will acquiesce to the will of others):

This has reminded me greatly of our own national campaign for President, that I thought it fitting to provide this educational report for your consideration and comment.
And with that I hope that my wordiness has been precisely of the measure to satisfy both those who require a minimum of content, while simultaneously keeping the less particular entertained and engaged.
Yours Truly,
Ulysses Everett McGill
And I will now take leave of your company, in favor of that of the gracious MooseHB, who has allowed me this opportunity to chat...
