I was going to write a killer diary, one so insightful and pithy that it would take the Internet by storm, be emailed from friend to friend, change all sorts of minds and assure a Democratic landslide...
As a small business owner, I could write about progressive taxation and how it is actually a better incentive for investment than the conservative myth of trickle down.
Or maybe I could write about the Powell endorsement and how it finally convinced my conservative leaning girlfriend to jump on the Obama bandwagon.
Or as a computer geek, I could compare Obama's governing style to open source software (and McCain's to buggy closed source like Microsoft).
But then I realized... holy freak... its less than two weeks to the election! Why am I wasting time in front of this damn computer? I should be knocking on doors for Obama! This will not be the diary that wins the election. Neither will yours. Its the ground game that will win it. Get out their and knock on doors. That is exactly what I will be doing as soon as I post this. My local Obama office has seen a drop-off off in volunteers because of all the over-optimistic talk. The polls are only correct if we MAKE them correct. We need new volunteers to replace recent losses.
