Okay, I know how people are reacting to polls as of late. "Someone sneezed! What do the tacking polls say NOW?". I think most people here in the real world have a decent idea of the polling numbers. But the Associated Press has two words for you: YOU'RE WRONG!
More on the flipside...
I wish I was making this up, but the AP's latest headline today:
AP presidential poll: All even in the homestretch
That's right. They have Obama at "44 percent and McCain at 43 percent". This leaves me very perplexed. Does the AP know something that pretty much the rest if of the pollsters don't?
For example (all as of today 10/22):
Daily Kos: O: 51 M:41
FiveThirtyEight: O: 51.8, M: 46.7
Gallup: O:51, M: 42
CNN: O:51 M: 42
I know this is a short diary, but I can't help but wonder if this is maybe a reverse psychology stratagy from the AP. See, Obama doesn't want us to be complacent. As he said last week, never underestimate our ability to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. He gave the AP part of his $150M so they put out numbers to keep us on our toes. Aside from that, I'm baffled.
