CNN/Time just released their latest wave of polls from red states and they have great news for Democrats. The numbers are essentially the same as they were a week ago in most of the states, and Obama leads outside of the margin of error in three of them.
CNN story is here
Quick roundup:
In Virginia, Obama is leading 54% to 44%!
In North Carolina, Obama is ahead 51% to 47% (margin of error is 4%).
In Nevada, it's 51% to 46% for Obama.
In Ohio, it's 50% to 46% for Obama (margin of error is 3.5%).
In West Virginia, however, it's 53% to 44% for McCain, a margin similar to that of the PPP poll earlier this week.
Of course, Obama only needs ONE of these states as long as he keeps Pennsylvania, and TWO if he loses Pennsylvania. As you can see, he is in great position to win... four! If you add this all up to the polls we got yesterday, Obama is also in a solid position in Florida and Indiana, Missouri... and of course Colorado.
Don't forget the simple math: If Obama keeps all the blue states (as looks likely) and wins Iowa and New Mexico (as looks likely), all he needs is one more of all of these red states I just mentioned. Just one. Even Nevada would be enough, since an electoral college tie would most likely be broken in Obama's favor.
