Another in a series of mental health / brief distraction diaries. I was fortunate enough to visit the Okavango Delta of Botswana earlier this year on a photography vacation and these shots are a result. I post these here just to provide a break from the stress of the campaign. Enjoy.
Twelve more days. Vote early!
The Okavango is a large inland delta where a river system that begins in Angola spreads out across the dry Kalahari of Botswana. The year round water attracts an amazing amount of wildlife and Botswana has put a large area under protection.
Mother and Calf
Face to face with a bull elephant. This was thrilling.
A Portrait in B&W
The fastest animal on earth. The 70 mph Cheetah (less than 10,000 left in the wild)
The African Wild Dog (less than 5,000 left)
Spotted Hyena Cub
How's this for a guilty look?
I have many more wildlife and ocean photos HERE
Thanks for letting me share these and now it's time to get back to winning this thing and driving the Republican Party into the dustbin of history. Feel free to post Pooties and Woozles or whatever you have for a brief distraction.
