You folks remember a few years ago when the folks here caught the concern trollswho were trying to divert money from a race (NH-02), claiming it couldn't be won, and "we" should spend money elsewhere?

Well, today, I'm a concern troll.  See why below the fold.

I just read over at fivethirtyeight.com the Senate Projections, 10/24 and it says,

Something of the calm before the storm here, as there has been plenty of polling out since our previous update four days ago, but not in any one particular direction.

As before, the three critical races for any scenario in which the Democrats earn a 60-seat majority are the three vulnerable Republican incumbents in the South. These are Mitch McConnell in Kentucky, Saxby Chambliss in Georgia, and Roger Wicker in Mississippi. All three races lean Republican to the tune of about 2 points.

We could debate all day about which of these races in fact presents the best opportunity for the Dems. ...

Okay, for starters, while those three are the closest, a fourth race, Texas, is "weak" Republican (according to Electoral-vote.com), so that one is worth looking at as well.

But, even restricting to three races, I am "concerned" that people will decide to focus on one race, so that the Democrats will get to sixty Senate seats, and have a supposed filibuster-proof majority.

There's only one problem with that analysis: one of those sixty "Democrats" is Joe Lieberman.

Do we really want to put the sixtieth seat in the hands of Joe??

One other problem: will Delaware send another Democrat to Washington to fill Joe Biden's seat?

So, rather than concentrate on one Senate seat, I recommend that we contribute to all four!  I know that we can contribute to both Jim Martin and Rick Noriega on the Orange2Bluepage.

What about Ronnie Musgrove and Bruce Lunsford?

Finally, can we do "Hell to Pay Saturday" for at least the two on the O2B page?  Wouldn't you really rather have 61 (or even 62) seats in the Senate?

Remember, it's not about bullying the Republicans; it's about not letting them stall the system.

And who knows?  If this works really well, maybe kos will decide to match funds on each of the four candidates, thereby really getting his wife angry at him.  It's for a good cause.
So, am I a concern troll?  Why not? Just color me "orange and blue".

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
