The human mind is limitless in its capacity to solve problems. I'm so excited today. Obama talks of the audacity of hope. Follow me into my world of dreams, if you dare. Obama speaks of American innovation. Not to be condescending or sarcastic in any way, I have been blessed with the gift of conceptualization, an ability to see a problem, to analyze it,and to solve that problem. Everyone except, the problem posed by the antequated US Patent Office, which favors the corporations, both foreign and domestic, and who couldn't care less about America. It makes me wonder if they really want to solve our nation's and the world's problems, at all. Or are they just in it for the bucks? Follow me for an adventure you'll never forget under the fold...
Invention #1:
In 1998, I invented the next generation, the 21st century version of the washer and dryer. Well, to most people, that two-machine configuration was the be-all and end-all, and a complete design, the best that it can get, the one size fits all design that would last for generations. Not so with dreamers like me. I invented a machine that accomplished both tasks in ONE machine! How excited I was, and how so disappointed I was when I couldn't get the patent on my idea in time to be beaten to the punch by Japan and Germany: I didn't have the $5,000 for a patent search! Think of all the jobs that would've resulted, and manufacturers that could have benefitted from my invention, right here in the good old US of A! Think of all the tax dollars that could've been generated, money that could've paid-off our debts. America should be a leader, not a 3rd-rate debtor nation. Every time we send jobs overseas we dig ourselves deeper into the annals of has-beens, who have fallen into the dustbins of history.
Invention #2:
Then, in 2005, in response to our horrific losses on the battlefield of Iraq, due to IEDs and roadside bombs, I invented an IED-resistant combat vehicle quite similar to the MRAP currently in service in Iraq, today. It has my V-shaped hull. But it doesn't have what I think is the pure genius of my invention. It doesn't have my multi-vehicle adaptable IED-resistant shield, that I based on technology(physics) dating all the way back to Hannibal Barca's stunning victory over the vastly superior Roman legions at the Battle of Cannae, in 216 B.C. The major problem I encountered then, was not a lack of developing a solution set for the IEDs, at all. It was over-coming the military industrialists at the Pentagon, and our greasy palmed politicians in Washington, who simply dismissed me because I wasn't on their white list of approved independent contractors. So the needless sacrifices lives of our brave troops on Bush's altar of war, came down to their power, their glory, their influence, and their greed for war profits. They stole my V-shaped hull, but I didn't give them my superior, unique shield design. It sits safely tucked away in my vault. They won't see it. It will go with me to my grave before I see it fall into enemy hands-or in their greedy hands. I even offered it to them gratis(at no cost to the government), and I was so confident in its superiority to RPG's, IEDs, and roadside bombs, I offered to be the first to live-fire test it! They never even wrote me back, to say thanks for the V-shaped hull!
Invention #3:
Now, for my final invention. I say final because I've been bleeding internally and I don't know when the Lord is going to take me home. I won't let them put a knife on my body or open me up for their quacks to ravage me. I have invented a vehicle, an automobile that does not, I repeat, does not run on fossel fuels! I'm going to take a respite from Dkos(no this is not GBCW), so I can complete my final design on it. But I want to leave you tonight with these words. Maybe when Obama becomes president, he will remove the impediments that prevent gifted innovators like me, who were born in America, from modest means like himself, and will remove the roadblocks standing in the way of progress. I hope he will simply make it easier for anyone, ANYONE, to get a patent on their idea! I wonder how hard a concept that is, and I wonder how many novice(by their dismissive standards) are sitting behind their drawing boards at home; dreamers who dream, like me.
