Anybody who has worked campaigns knows that there comes a point toward the end where some people will throw in all the garbage they can because it's too late in the game for an opponent to effectively protest.

The Minnesota Independent, for whom I work, just ran this story about the latest offerings from the McCain Camp.

And when you're walking back from the mailbox and hear the phone ring, you'll hear this robo call when you answer, accusing Obama of that old GOP standby, "Coddling Criminals."

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

Minnesota foreclosures rise 42 percent in September

    By Molly Priesmeyer 10/23/08

A recent report by RealtyTrac reveals that Minnesota foreclosures rose 42 percent in September compared to foreclosure filings during the same period in 2007. Overall there were 2,144 foreclosure filings in Minnesota during September, placing Minnesota 26th in the nation for foreclosure filings that month. Hennepin County made up more than half of all foreclosure filings in the state.

Well, in all fairness -- I don't LIKE the story. But its placement (right under the McCain article) underscores, literally, what this election is all about.

John McCain isn't a bad person -- I JUST HATE him.
