Missouri GOP headquarters in Christian County, in the ultra-conservative southwest corner of the state (near Branson), got caught yesterday passing out fake $100 bills with a photo of Barack Obama in the center.
The bills say "socialist," "food stamps," and the misspelled phrase, "In Ahla We Trust." They also show a hammer and sickle.
The link to the video story from the local news is below. You have to see it to believe it.

On the video, even Republicans can't believe the fake $100 bills were really being distributed by the official Republican party headquarters. But they were! The reporter has one skeptic go into the GOP headquarters and pick one up for himself.
Thankfully, at least one local Republican in the video was appalled by the fake bills, and apparently contacted the people in charge of the local party. The fake bills were withdrawn later in the day.
Remember Barack Obama's famous quote about pictures on dollar bills? On July 30, he said the GOP would try to scare voters by telling them that "he doesn't look like all those other presidents on those dollar bills." Conservative commentators immediately said Obama was just playing the race card.
But Obama made that comment in Springfield, Missouri, which is also in southwest Missouri. Seems like he knew what he was talking about, huh?
Sarah Palin made a speech in Springfield today. She didn't mention the fake $100 bills. I guess she didn't think there was anything wrong with them.
The race in Missouri is close. The local Republicans are getting desperate.
