Welp, today's the day. As by bro, privatewl would say, "Celebrating a half-century in service to humanity."
And while others more notable have been born on this date--Picasso, Strauss, Bart Simpson--Crashing Vor is who you're stuck with today.
Coming with the same gimme gimme he pulled in '06, begging for a lousy $10.25 for Howard Dean and the Democratic National Committee.
Why Howard? I mean, aside from the fact that, if not for Howard Dean and his crazy idea of contesting all races, of building the party district by district all around the country, you wouldn't be seeing the Obama campaign of the present?
Well, how about because the Committee really needs the dough coming into the home stretch?
Oct. 24 (Bloomberg) -- The Republican National Committee and its party nominee, John McCain, headed into the final three weeks of the presidential campaign with $8 million more to spend than Democratic nominee Barack Obama and his party.
The RNC had $59.2 million in the bank as of Oct. 15, while McCain had just over $25 million left to spend out of his $84.1 million public grant.
Obama had $65.8 million cash on hand after spending $105.6 million between Oct. 1 and Oct. 15. The Democratic National Committee had $11 million in the bank.
How about because there are a lot of downtickets that are going to need attention? How about for the job Howard's done melding the Committee with the Obama campaign? How about because he kicked out the lobbyists?
How about you just take my word for it: ponying up that $10.25 for Howard's going to make you feel really good. And me, too. And it's my birthday. And you want me to feel good, right?
So, how about it?
Yeah, sounds good to me, too.
