It's crunch time, right? Less than two weeks to go and the pressure is on to change minds at this last hour--particularly if you are John McCain. So you would expect him to be campaigning to generate as much excitement as he can.
McCain's Dream Team
So imagine watching the past two days of McCain stumping around Colorado and New Mexico desperately trying to turn those states around. Maybe McCain will be on stage with some important Latino politician or celebrity (remember Daddy Yankee endorsed McCain).
So there is John with his increasingly scary wife. Does she always have to look like she just stepped out of a fucking photo shoot? She looks as inauthentic and cold as they come. But hey, that's his wife and unlike Senator Obama and Senator Biden, John needs to be with wifey 24/7.
But then I look on stage and there is Lindsey.....yes...that Lindsey the 52 year-old never married senator from South Carolina trying to connect with all those southwesterners. Hmmm... strange. I mean, Cindy said yesterday in Durango that Lindsey is John's best friend. And Lindsey gave a really funny intro. (excerpts below) but Lindsey Graham? I mean, I thought they ditched the white guys as backdrops back in Virginia in February.
The whole thing looks like McCain has given up and like a condemned man waiting execution or a terminally ill patient with days to live--he's eating burgers and milkishakes. For John. Lindsey is his comfort food. Not really good for you politically but hey BFF let's enjoy one last time out there.
Some of Lindsey's corny jokes.......
“John McCain has lived the American dream. He’s a Navy guy that married a beautiful woman that owns a beer distributorship.”
“I could make a short speech, the times that Barack Obama did something hard and controversial. I am now done.”
“I can see that a lot of people in Durango are named Joe. It’s a pretty place but you don’t have a lot of names.”
“But there’s another Joe out there. Joe the Biden. He’s the gift that keeps on giving.”
Senator Obama has run the best campaign in the past 50 years, and John McCain has run perhaps the worst!
Let's bury them on November 4!!!!!!!! I'm with Markos, let's absolutely DESTROY and PULVERIZE them on November 4. Let them feel the pain, disappointment, sorrow, angst we felt in December 2000 and Nov. 04--except worse!
