So, to defy the "this is not Myspace" folks, I am going to post a fun photo diary. I have a small voice-over/video editing studio in an aging complex in Burbank, California. It has seen much better days, but there is a lot of fun stuff to see.
Here is some of the best of it. You can go to my flickr photostream here to see much more- http://www.flickr.com/...
First, a couple of photos of the complex. It is probably 20 acres in total, just huge.
The complex is, as I said, in Burbank, just south of Beautiful Downtown Burbank (which is much more attractive than it used to be). It is owned by Western Studio Services and they rent various bits of it out to other companies. I have two rooms, a recording studio room and a control room which is also used for video editing, in one of the smaller buildings.
The company across the parking lot from me builds scenery for movies, TV and commercials. This morning, some of it was laying against the building. One day, you might see some of this in a movie or on TV-
I'm guessing this was or will be used for a Microsoft ad-
This is a huge complex and one of the things that is stored here are lots of trucks and buses for use in films. These two are new to the complex-
There are a lot of buses of different types for use in films. The bus on the right in the photo below doesn't really have a digital display sign. It's painted.
Some of them are unlocked-
A NYC Metro bus with the San Gabriel Mountains in the background-
Did you think CSI: NY was only shot in New York? Wrong!
These are from a bygone era-
And this is just silly-
And, as promised, the Trojan Horse! Actually, it's a 62-foot Pinata which is going to be installed in Pittsburgh. The people working on it said it will be the world's largest Pinata. They never fully assembled it here, but they assembled it in parts and I liked to think of it as the Trojan Horse.
Hope you enjoyed the photos as much as I enjoyed taking them!
