Obama appears to being doing quite well in Colorado, a key state.

A Rocky Mountain News poll of 500 registered voters said a mind boggling 80 percent of voters will vote early either by mail or at an early voting site. The poll concluded that overall early voters favored Obama 54 percent to McCain's 41 percent.
Overall, those who said they already had voted or planned to vote early favored Obama, 54 percent to 41 percent.
Colorado is serious about this election with 80 percent saying they voted early or plan to vote early. My educated guess is that many people plan on taking advantage of the current decent weather in Colorado. I don't think they want to take the chance of experiencing with potential snowy weather on election day. Dealing with that is a nuisance.
Of those polled, 33 percent said they already had voted, with slightly more casting ballots at early voting sites than by mail. Another 16 percent said they plan to vote at an early voting site, and 30 percent said they plan to vote by mail. Nineteen percent said they plan to cast their ballot on Election Day.
Obama nearly splits with people who've already voted by mail. But he has a very strong advantage (59-36) among those who said they voted at early voting sites.
According to the poll, those who voted by mail were split in terms of which presidential candidate they favored. The preference was more clear among those who said they voted at early voting sites. In that group, 59 percent of respondents said they favored Barack Obama, and 36 percent said they preferred John McCain. Overall, those who said they already had voted or planned to vote early favored Obama, 54 percent to 41 percent.
An obama and mccain again go even steven by people who plan on voting at a poll on election day.
Those who said they planned to go to the polls on Election Day - 19 percent - were almost evenly split between McCain and Obama supporters.
Along with the Rocky Mountain News Poll that had Obama ahead by 12 points, this poll provides everyone with hope that Obama will carry Colorado and give us a few steps closer to the white house.
