Zogby's polling was already pretty much a joke, but now he's made laughingstock status.

He shows Obama dropping 5% overnight? From a 10% lead, to 5%. That's right folks, Zogby claims McCain has found his message again and he warns us that Obama is in his "danger zone" of 49%.

Yes, his danger zone. I had to type that again, for those laughing so hard they missed it.

Of course, he still has McCain at 44% in his poll. Zogby's wild poll swings are becoming legendary.

Legendary, as in ARG legendary.

"There is no question that this race continues to tighten and that McCain is finding his message again," said Pollster John Zogby. "It is after all about the economy and that is how McCain tightened it up the last time. I have said over and over again, when he focuses on extraneous issues, he screws up. In today's single day of polling, it was 49% to 46% in favor of Obama. McCain has moved his own numbers each of the three days and Obama has gone down from 54% to 50% to 49%. I have alluded before to this strange, magnetic pull that brings Obama down to 48% or 49%, a danger zone for him. McCain's gains are among white voters, where he now leads by 12 points, and with men, where he again has a healthy lead. There is still a lot of campaign to go. A lot of campaign to go."

Just about all of aggregate of polls yesterday showed movement towards Obama, except Zogby's poll. Gallup isn't on that list, but Obama slightly gained there as well.

What does this tell us? It tells us that Zogby doesn't have a clue how to poll and his daily narrative of the race is clueless as well. He's been an outlier for awhile now, but after today he's just a plain joke.

Danger zone polling, with your host John Zogby and special guest ARG.

From fellow kossack ZenMaster Coltrane:

"My wish is for Dkos to become a Zogby-free zone."

I couldn't agree more.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
