I just got this from a friend in e-mail, and thought I'd pass it on. It's a professionally done piece wherein Israelis of all political stripes are shown supporting Barack Obama because they know he's a friend of Israel.

In other news: I just collected all 40 of my interviews at the Republican National Convention and listed them on the Shockwave Radio Theater Audio Page.
A bit more commentary in Moreville.
Growing up Jewish in a Christian-dominated country like the US, I got inured to a whole bunch of claims. People run for office as a "values" candidate while showing none of the Christian values. Almost everyone who said "character matters" turned out to have no character worth voting for. Jewish candidates tend to be have a stronger character, in my observation, but not always. Here in Minnesota we had Paul Wellstone, but we also had Rudy Boschwitz and now have Norm Coleman.
I support Israel not because I'm Jewish... or at least not only because I'm Jewish. I support Israel because I'm an American, and Israel is our best friend in the region. Sometimes, it's our only friend in the region. Idiots make all sorts of asinine claims against the country, which only strengthens my support. Alas, some (not all) of those claims have a grain of truth (but are rarely accurate portrayals) and I have spoken up in more appropriate forums about my views.
Here in Daily Kos, we need to keep our eyes on the prize. Electing Barack Obama is important, and the Jewish vote is an important voting bloc. Most Jews will vote for Obama for all the right reasons. Let's encourage them.
