Update #4 Dont get upset about fighting back. I am posting acorn's response below the bump. Link to proof

Jeff Waybright, the Jackson County Clerk in West Virginia welcomes everyone inside the Machine. He wanted to show that the Machines were not set to flip to McCain when voters hit the slot for Obama. He ended up showing that, at the end of the day, the machines are set up to flip to anything but Obama when you hit the Obama slot. Makes me feel a lot better, you?

Remember when the New Jersey primary had these types of problems. Wonder what kind of machins are up in VA and PA.

Read the witness account below.......

Update: My goodness, the reclist. Thanks! spread the word

Update #4: This is the video and link for the fight back. Acorn has a cleaver ad fighting back against McCain, plus video of a young man who was illegally targeted and there is a lawsuit pending now:

Link to this story.

This link and video is about a kid who was targeted and is fighting back:

Nineteen year old Francisco Martinez appeared at a press conference this morning convened by ACORN to announce a new commercial and a series of law suits filed on behalf of voters illegally targeted to have their votes suppressed by right wing xenophobes.

And a note: I just returned from the rally in Raliegh, and Obama was just killing it. I've been to many and the one-liners out of this one can last all week.

Update x2 Here is some testimony on what voters are seeing. There are some who dont see what most of us see:

Now here are 2 folk that doesn't need excuses as to why they could cast a vote, but then you see repubs doing this shit

Update 3: Some think that...

this (i.e. the problem that occurs after he calibrated the machine) is something that has little to do with the touch-screen technology itself (nor its "calibration").  It appears to be a software error in the computer program running on the machine with respect to changing votes.  No amount of calibration will fix this.  This would require a patch from ESS.

merits more discussion. I think it misses the point entirely. If this is a problem in a non-early voting state like PA with day long lines, there will be no time for this type of argument. In addition, the 2 voters that experienced this could care less about "calibration problems", they just want their damn vote to count, as do I. The fact that this video is real means that their stories are real, and that is dang scary.

Update #2: Check out this extra crap in New Mexico:

In a report from Zachary Roth, Voter suppression, New Mexico style, a detailed plot on voter suppression is revealed. It is how one goes after latinos in a way to scare them from the polls. The story begins in the primary, where:

The story starts last week, when several representatives of the New Mexico Republican party, including Rogers, held a press conference to announce that 28 people had voted fraudulently in a Democratic primary in June in Bernalillo county, which contains Albuquerque. The party released the names of ten of these people -- almost all of whom are Hispanic.

The allegations quickly fell apart. ACORN announced that it had contacted the county clerk's office, who had verified that all of the voters were in fact legitimate. The group now says it has independently contacted 8 of these 10 voters to separately verify their validity.

At that point, the national GOP ... seemed to quietly back off.

Digg Link

But they quietly dispatched a PI to go door to door.

Nonetheless, Bojorquez said that her mother yesterday received a visit from a man who asked for her personal information, including an ID, in reference to her eligibility to vote. Bojorquez told TPMmuckraker that according to her mother, at one point the man asked what she would do if immigration authorities contacted her.

This is what is happening here. The story ends with the revelation that the grandma had already voted by the time this all went down, but someone said that McLame didn't have a ground game and that is why we should be confident. He may not have a ground game, but he sure as hell doesn't mind cheating..

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
