According to Haaretz,
...according to a senior Israeli government source, the reports reaching Israel indicate that Sarkozy views the Democratic candidate's stance on Iran as "utterly immature" and comprised of "formulations empty of all content."
If true, Sarkozy is on a neocon flight from reality. It was acknowledged almost a year ago in a US National Intelligence Estimate, much to the chagrin of the neocrazies, that U.S. Says Iran Ended Atomic Arms Work. Iran is heading toward uranium enrichment, but the enrichment level needed for nuclear power generation is a tiny fraction of that needed for nuclear weapons.
Iran's Military Spending is less than one percent the size of the USA's.
Sarkozy criticizes Obama for his willingness to negotiate with Iran without preconditions. So far, the US has demanded that Iran stop uranium enrichment before negotiations can begin. Sarkozy (and Bush) want a united "front" against Iran. Of course, the Chinese and Russians won't play that game.
They're pumping up the volume to get Barack Obama to drink the neocon Kool-Aid, even though the International Atomic Energy Agency can't find any evidence in Iran of anything except uranium enrichment to commercial, power plant levels.
I'm surprised the French people put up with this Sarkozy character. What's the point of "negotiations" if you demand the other party concede before even starting?
