Yesterday, the CIGNA headquarters in Philadelphia was invaded by protestors led by the California Nurses Association. This sort of militant action against the most vicious industry in the United States is still rare in America, but it would become the norm, if John McCain was berthed at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
If God forbid, John McCain were able to steal this election (no way on earth he could be elected fair and square), Americans would be forced to take extraordinary actions against the predatory and criminal health insurance industry. Americans would be forced to routinely invade the predatory corporate offices because:
John McCain + THE INSURANCE INDUSTRY = MURDER BY SPREADSHEET
Deliver this message across Pennsylvania for the next five days and Obama will sweep the state!
Here's a DIGG link which a great Kossack just provided, thank you!
McCain's "reform" of the American health care system would provide big tax incentives for the crippled system to transition from being employer-based to one built on an even worse system of individual responsibility. This is Republican-speak for shift the costs onto your shoulders and mine.
He would do this by eliminating the longtime personal tax exemption on employer-provided health insurance and replacing it with a $2,500 individual, and $5,000 family, tax credit for those who have health insurance.
Six days before the most important election in my lifetime, it was an auspicious moment to be standing in the lobby of this Murder by Spreadsheet factory.
We were not greeted as liberators, we were met by ashen faced security guards who told us it was "CIGNA corporate policy to prohibit people from taking photos of their corporate logo proudly affixed to their building at 1601 Chestnut Street.
Photographing this is a crime.
This is Hilda Sarkisyan, the mother of the late Nataline. Nataline was the 17-year-old teenager who was denied a liver transplant by CIGNA. This denial crime was brought to our attention by the California Nurses Association. Kossacks and outraged Americans intervened and the criminal insurance company was forced by shame to reverse itself. But it was too late, and Nataline died.
Well since taking a photograph of nurses standing outside the corporate headquarters is forbidden, we had no alternative but to go inside.
Uh oh!
Catcalls, jeers and the finger from CIGNA employees.
You bet, we responded.
Would you like to know exactly what CIGNA employees were booing?
Hilda and Grigor Sarkisyan had flown all the way from Los Angeles to make a simple request. They wanted an apology from CIGNA, and they wanted a commitment from CIGNA that no other American family would have be sacrificed on the Alter of Murder By Spreadsheet.
Please memorize these faces of grief. This is the fallout of the for-profit healthcare system in the United States.
Instead of meeting a CIGNA executive, CIGNA sent a low level PR flack wouldn't even give us his last name.
This is "Chris" from CIGNA facing the parents of Nataline.
These were the same nurses from the California Nurses Association, the night before CIGNA called the police on them, delivering mouth watering pizza to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the Temple University Medical Center. A medical center that serves a large low-income population in Philadelphia.
Finally CIGNA called the police. We were ordered out.
So we went outside with a police escort, yup, that's me. We left them a reminder that things will change when President Obama is sworn in on January 20th, 2009!
But the American people have finally woken up from their slumber and they know exactly who is responsible for the collapse of the healthcare system.
The American people also recognize the dire consequences of a McCain victory. If McCain were to steal this election, you'd see armies of Americans invading the offices of insurance companies across the United States.
A just released study holds the for-profit insurance industry responsible for making healthcare and health insurance unaffordable.
Merciless, corrupt companies like CIGNA.
Health Insurance Companies Get the Most Blame for Increasing Cost of Health Care
Obama seen as more likely to control health care costs and reduce the number of uninsured than McCain
Many more people blame the insurance industry for rising health care costs than blame anyone else. When asked who is most to blame, 41% of adults blame insurance companies compared to far fewer who blame the pharmaceutical companies (16%), the government (16%), hospitals (6%), or physicians (4%).
These are some of the results of The Harris Poll(R), a new nationwide survey of 2,119 U.S. adults surveyed online between October 16 and 20, 2008 by Harris Interactive(R).
The survey found that large pluralities of people in all demographic groups are much more likely to blame the insurance industry than anyone else, whether they are young or old, male or female, rich or poor, live in the East, Midwest, South or West or are a Republican, Democrat or Independent.

THAT'S WHY, MY FRIENDS, I REPEAT, VOTE LIKE YOUR LIFE DEPENDS ON IT, BECAUSE IT DOES:
MURDER BY SPREADSHEET
And, let me leave you with Rose Ann DeMoro's scathing smackdown of Sarah Palin, Hockey Mom or Neiman Marxist in the Huffington Post.
THE WOMAN WHO WON'T BE VP
So while Americans lose their healthcare, take a moment from canvassing and play Dress Sarah Palin here.
One more thing, we have video of this entire encounter which I will post as soon as it's up on You Tube.
Here's that DIGG link again provided by a great Kossack!
