In an embarassing last minute expose the news has come to surface that Joe Wilson, Republican Congressman of SC 02, was the recipient of large tax breaks that showed the land where his Congressional offices and other rental property was vacant land and not commercial rental property.
We are lucky that we have a Democratic candidate Rob Miller running against Joe Wilson, he is an Iraq War Veteran and he can use any extra dollars anyone can spare to run his ads against Joe Wilson.

There are these comments from Carol Fowler and Lachlan McIntosh
"It seems that becoming a congressman has really paid off for Joe Wilson especially in the way of tax breaks," party chairwoman Carol Fowler said in a statement Tuesday. "It is more than obvious that Mr. Wilson received special privileges because of status and is more than willing to take full advantage of the good ol' boy system. It shouldn't have taken so long for him or anyone else to notice such a huge mistake."
Nobody should use their position for special treatment, said Miller's campaign manager, Lachlan McIntosh. "We certainly hope that didn't happen. But we think it should be looked at just to make sure."

County tax mistake helped Rep. Wilson, partner
But the man who runs Lexington County's property tax reassessment operation says the mistake happened years ago -- when Wilson was a state senator. Richard Dolan linked it to manual changes prompted by a delay in countywide reassessments.
Wilson campaign spokesman Preston Grisham said corrected bills have been paid and nothing is owed. Correcting the bills added $4,100 to the partnership's bills for 2008 alone.

The state Democratic Party is criticizing Wilson, saying he got special treatment. But Wilson business partner Ray Moseley III said Wednesday that takes care of the bills for the property that includes Wilson's campaign offices in West Columbia.
Moseley said Wilson had nothing to do with paying taxes.
Moseley said he didn't notice as the county began billing for the land without buildings. Records show the tax bill dropped from $2,200 in 2000 to less than $350 in 2005.
I used to run a business and I sure would have noticed a 2000 dollar difference in a tax bill, I don't care what anyone thinks, you just don't say great nice tax cut and forget about it, for seven years?
