At American News Project (ANP), we've been covering the deeper, and longer lasting, effects of recent political activity in America. From helping save a woman's foreclosed home in Queens Village, NY to exposing controversial voting problems in Pennsylvania, ANP gives you much more than just the quick 1-2 minute reports of the main stream media.
That said, all too often, we've shown up to Obama and McCain rallies and just been taken aback by how many wacky, crazy people there are.
In this video, reporter Davin Hutchins found a lone McCain supporter at a recent Obama speech in Virginia. He was holding a huge sign with a picture of Obama dressed in native Somalian clothes.
Within minutes, the McCainiac was swarmed by Obama supporters and a shouting match ensued.
Despite this, one Obama supporter came up to him, shook his hand, and said, "I respect your freedom of speech".
A very mature, and American, way to go about it.
