A week or two ago, someone mentioned "Cookies From Kossacks" as a means of thanking the tireless volunteers who are working day in and day out to get more and better Democrats elected to offices across the country.
I love to cook, and so today my husband and I are taking the "cookie" notion a step farther. We're calling our effort "Cooking From Kossacks" and would like to invite you to join in.
So far today, I've made a double batch of peanut butter-Butterfinger cookie crisps. I had to put our leftover Halloween candy to use, otherwise we'd eat it and get fatter than we already are.
My husband, Old Abe, is at the moment making two huge trays of food: Victory Vegetarian Lasagna and Leftilicious Lasagna. We've also bought ingredients to deliver a gigantic Caesar salad.
When Old Abe is done in the kitchen, I'll return to make a double batch of chocolate chip cookies.
The cookies are labeled "Cookies for Kossacks" and include a note thanking everyone on behalf of the Kos community. The lasagnas will be labeled "Liberal Lunch Special" with the same thank you note.
I'll be working with the Darcy Burner (WA-08) campaign all day tomorrow, and I'll deliver the food to her office, which is a consolidated site for a number of Dem candidates.
On Election Day, I'll be out in the rain, providing folding chairs and loaning out my four umbrellas to voters standing in line as they await their chance to make history.
Won't you join us?
