Obama's final Ohio push is AMAZING!
Obama has a lead in most Ohio polls, but it is still coming down to GOTV efforts.
Obama's team put together 3 huge speeches today in key battlefields and it looks like it has worked. On Hardball, Chris Matthews just indicated that Obama had spoken to almost 200,000 in Ohio today and it looks like his numbers are correct (although maybe closer to 175,000).
Repports are indicating:
80,000+ turned out in Cleveland where Bruce Springsteen performed - PICS here.
60,000+ turned out in the crowded downtown Columbus - Text of speech here
Approx. 35,000 - 40,000 are expected in Cincinnatti -
Obama is holding a late night rally, 9PM, at the University of Cincinnati. The stadium holds 35,000 people. Watch the LIVE STREAM Here
Obama's team has also unleashed a GOTV tidal wave and is reminding the crowds that Ohio is an early voting state.
Obama told the Columbus crowd:
Go vote right now. Do not delay because we have work to do.
When Obama asked the Columbus crowd how many had already voted, a large number raised their hands.
Ohio, I know these are difficult times. But I also know that we have faced difficult times before. The American story has never been about things coming easy – it’s been about rising to the moment when the moment was hard. It’s about rejecting fear and division for unity of purpose. That’s how we’ve overcome war and depression. That’s how we’ve won great struggles for civil rights and women’s rights and workers’ rights. And that’s how we’ll write the next great chapter in the American story.
Obama added: stated in Columbus:
We are two days away from changing America, and it's going to start right here in the great state of Ohio.
Also - JUST RELEASED: The new USA Today Gallup poll (for tomorrow) shows Obama leading McCain 53%-42% nationally but state polls are varied and some are close.
To all the volunteers in Ohio - DON'T LET UP !!!
