Just got back from two or three hours phonebanking to FL. The lists I was using were pretty much pro-Democratic voters -- the few registered Republicans on the list weren't answering the phone -- and the folks I did talk to were all enthusiastic Obama supporters.
The thing that made me sit up and take notice, however, was the script. We were instructed to tell voters that FL is "tied." Now, at first I figured that was the old "statistical tie," or maybe even tell 'em you're down to motivate them to vote, but the talk around the office was the campaign's internals do in fact show a tie.
More on the flip...
The pollster.com average in FL is a 2.5 point Obama lead, as detailed here:
<script></script>
The most recent poll is an ARG, and it's O50, M46. Mason-Dixon has a recent one at O47, M45 and CNN's latest put it at O51, M47. Datamar, however, has it tied at 47 and Allstate/National Journal makes it a near tie at O45, M44.
According to CNN, nearly 4 million people have early and absentee voted in FL, 1.8 million Democrats and 1.5 million Republicans.
The point is that we need GOTV in FL. If you can do at home phonebanking, do it. Better yet, get down to your closest campaign office and help out.
