Even though Lupin and I live out here in the back of beyond France, we are still as involved in what's happening in the States as if we were still living in Reseda. I have to be excited or I will cry.
We decided that we needed to do SOMETHING in our little way, so we printed up OBAMA 08 signs and have posted them on our door and window. My guess is that it confuses the heck out of some of our neighbors, who probably still have no idea who Obama is! Still, it makes us feel proud when we walk back into the house and see them there.
We've also invited the few Americans that we know in our neck of the woods to come for a Victory Celebration Breakfast on Wednesday morning at the God-awful (for most of them) hour of 7 am, when all the U.S. polls will be closed and we will have the results.
We will be a small celebration, but we will be with all of you in the States in spirit. We will clebrate with Blanquette de Limoux (the ORIGINAL sparkling wine, whose recipe was stolen by those upstarts in Champagne), croissants, homemade muffins and coffeecake. All the important breakfast food groups.
Of course we'll take pictures. I may see if I can get our mayor to join us, then we can get the story in the local paper.
Oh, and by the way, I don't think I'll invite my mother. No McCain supporters allowed!
TO VICTORY AND BEYOND!
