Welcome to the Election 2008 Live Blogging Project. Scoreboard, commentary, map of NY districts, result updates below the fold. Also starring: NYS senate updates.

8:33AM: GOOD MORNING! We HAVE THE NYS SENATE! Well done, folks. More information here. Also - Arcuri's won in the 24th, which means we have only THREE House seats left to turn over in the midterms.
Thanks to all who followed this thread and provided additional information. HUGE thanks to The Albany Project, whose tireless work made these victories possible.
Older news:
11:55PM Arcuri's ahead in the 24th by just 3432 votes. Yep, it's gonna be a squeaker.
11:50PM RESULT 29th called for Massa! HUZZAH!
11:43PM Albany Project gives Dems a SLIGHT edge in the NYS Senate. Read more at the Times, here.
11:25PM: Albany Project reporting a Massa victory in the 29th - awaiting confirmation.
11:10PM 24th and 29th SO close but going our way. See the map for uber-close results. (Oh, and our guy won the White House. ::grin::)
10:57PM RESULT Alice Kryzan loses in the 25th. Tough beat.
10:50PM Three house races still not called - results below. Also - Bruno's seat stays red; many other state senate races too close/too early to call.
10:30PM RESULT Maffei kicks ass in the 25th! Congrats!
10:24PM: RESULT McMahon wins in Staten Island! The 13th is BLUE!
10:18PM RESULT Kirsten Gillibrand keeps her seat in NY20. HUZZAH!! Remaining 5 races are still too close to call.
10:14PM: RESULT Sad news - Peter King has kept his seat in NY-03. Personal note to Graham Long - 2010!
7:53PM - from The Albany Project:
75% turn out in Bethlehem so far...similar numbers throughout Cap Region and State. Schenectady, Troy, Albany...all huge turn out...numbers closing in on 80%...Rochester, Buffalo, NYC and LI turn out closing in on 75-80%.
7:15pm: Newsday reports long lines on Long Island (video).
4:30pm A report from The Albany Project suggests that both Long Island and Western New York are seeing record numbers in voter turnout.
4:15PM Polls in New York close at 9pm Eastern; we should see the first results at about 9:30, although the seven races I'm tracking here will probably not show any results until much later. I'll make a prediction: if we don't have results on NY-03 by 1am, then it is looking VERY good for our guy Graham to win. I hope I'm up all night!

Thanks to dmsilev, I am offering you a map of the state, with the House districts indicated. If we can win back the NYS Senate, this map may make a lot more sense come midterms!
