The tradition of Dixville Notch and Hart's Location lives on.
Some of you may remember the West Wing Episode, Hartsfield's Landing. It's based on two New Hampshire towns, Dixville Notch and Hart's Landing. Polls open at midnight. I'll update as news comes in.
Just a reminder in the Primary:
Democratic Primary: (10 voters)
* Barack Obama - 7
* John Edwards - 2
* Bill Richardson - 1
Republican Primary: (7 voters)
* John McCain - 4
* Mitt Romney - 2
* Rudy Giuliani - 1
DIXVILLE NOTCH, N.H. (Map, News) - The tradition of Dixville Notch and Hart's Location lives on.
The two tiny northern villages were poised to be the nation's first to cast - and report - their votes for president. With 115 residents between them, Dixville Notch and Hart's Location's get every eligible voter to the polls beginning at midnight on Election Day. Between them, the towns have been enjoying their first-vote status since 1948.
And just for fun:
Go vote now. It will make you feel big and strong!
UPDATE 12:21 EST Thanks so much for the recs!!! No word yet on Hart's Location. What a phenomenal start to the day!

UPDATE 1:08 EST A picture is worth a thousand words:
UPDATE 1:41 EST I'm having trouble finding the Dixville results for the other races as all the news outlets immediately cut away from the coverage after the presidential count was called. Apologies.
