I just tried to report on my voting experience on My Fair Election, and couldn't. The site didn't give me the option of reporting, only of reading the reports of others. So I'm reporting here.
I live in Elkins Park, Pennsylvania, a little under a mile outside of Philadelphia. I arrived at my polling place this morning at about 6:45 am, and found a line of about 150 people waiting in front of me. While I was standing in line an official came around giving out voting samples. He said that he'd never seen a line this long, at any time of day or in any election, at this polling place. So it looks like turnout is going to be great.
Everything went smoothly. I voted easily and without any incident. We did not have computer touch-screen voting machines. We did have the usual screens that we do touch, and they seemed to be working without a hitch, at least that early in the morning.
I cast my vote at about 7:35 am. When I left the polling place I looked to see how long the line of waiting voters was. It was about the same length as it was when I arrived.
That's how voting went for me, namely, without incident.
