The Secretary of State's office in Missouri has confirmed that robocalls have gone out to disabled citizens on Medicaid, claiming that a vote for Obama will mean they'll lose their Medicaid.
From the Executive Director of NAMI Missouri, this alert (via my brother, a social worker in St. Louis):
The Secretary of State's office just confirmed for us that Robo called are going out to disabled persons on Medicaid indicated they will have their Medicaid "taken away" if they vote for Obama.
We became aware of this today when we reviewed a WARMline call log from an Eldon woman. She was upset by a call she received and called to ask us about it (thank heaven). We reported this to the Secretary of State's office and asked Eldon area radio stations to help reassure people. I later learned this call is going out statewide.
I spoke with Bob Priddy of Missourinet a short while ago. He may be able to get a story out statewide before the polls close.
If you or any of your members get these calls, please report them to the Secretary of State's office, the Attorney General and the MO Ethics Commission,
