I just saw Howard Fineman on MSNBC. He reported that Josh Marshall of TPM has confirmed that Rahm Emanuel has been offered the position of Chief of Staff and that he has accepted.
Fineman also reported that Jesse Jackson III in Illinois is angling for Obama's Senate seat. It remains to be seen what Obama's postion on that matter is.
Here is a link to an MSNBC report that says Rahm has been offered the role. It also says he is "agonizing" over whether or not to accept.
If this is true, Rahm is giving up a promising career in the House. He is currently the 4th ranking Democrat in the House. With Pelosi, Hoyer, and Clyburn significantly older than him, it would only be a matter of time before Rahm became Speaker.
So, what do people think about Rahmbo as Chief of Staff?
I have to say I like it.
