Forget that other frameshop, I have a real frame shop, and this is a shameless commercial post! As far as I can tell, there's no rule against shameless commercial posts, and hey, I've been here forever. So here it is, and if you don't like it, I'm sure you can find a dozen more worthy diaries to read here.
Like I said, I have a real frame shop, and I want everyone to know that I can frame up that historic copy of yesterday's newspaper. You know, the edition that says "Obama Elected First Black President" or something to that effect. Here's what I did yesterday and put in the front window of my shop:
By the end of yesterday, I had already sold it. For those of you that are interested, I hand-wrapped the mat with kente fabric that I bought two months ago in anticipation of this day. And the frame moulding is appropriately called Kenya. But I'm a custom framer, and I can frame yours any way you like.
So if you live in the Bay Area, and have the front page section of your paper, bring it to me. Don't just put it in a box under your bed. That's boring. And just in case, I have 12 extra issues of the Chronicle. I can frame any other campaign memorabilia you might have, whether it's a favorite photo of President-elect Barack Obama (I LOVE saying that), or some stuff from the convention, etc.
I should warn you, I will be charging you. This ain't free! I'm trying to get through the economic crisis, too. But this makes a really nice way to celebrate a truly historic event in American history, one that I'm fortunate to have seen. Makes a great holiday gift for a loved one, too!
OK, thanks much for bearing with my shameless commercial plug. If you're interested, contact me via e-mail. My shop is in San Mateo, convenient to 101, 280 and 92.
