This one ain't over guys. From the campaign:
There are 81,000 ballots outstanding.
Absentee and early ballots (2/3rd of that total) will be counted next Wednesday.
The other 1/3rd, questioned ballots will be counted later next week or even early the following one.
According to the Election division, Begich is leading Stevens 59-37 in the early ballots that have already been counted.
The Anchorage Daily News has a cool PDF map detailing where each candidate got their votes (or at least those already counted).
Update: The gap is currently 106,351 Stevens, to 102,998 Begich.
Update II: Nate Silver has more.
With so few early and absentee ballots counted to date, Ted Stevens' lead is not nearly so robust as it appears. Until we get better information about the nature of the absentee vote in Alaska, the race should probably be regarded as a toss-up.
