This is a list of poll questions, with explanations present only when I think I have something to add. You can appreciate the absurdity of some of these for yourself:
Question 1:
For the next Supreme Court Justice appointee, would you prefer a judge who takes other countries [sic] laws into consideration when crafting his or her judicial opinions, or a judge who only considers American laws and precedent when crafting his or her opinions?
A judge who takes other countries' laws into consideration
A judge who only considers American laws and precedent
Not sure
The ridiculousness here is in the answers: the false dichotomy of "foreign laws" vs "US laws and precedent" is presented, when really what people are suggesting is that we take a look at foreign judicial reasoning.
Question 2:
If you knew Barack Obama supports repealing legislation that currently prevents non-government organizations, which receive federal funding, from providing abortions in other nations, such as China where coercive abortions are performed based on the gender of the fetus, would that make you...
More likely to support Obama
Less likely to support Obama
Ridiculousness here: they're linking Obama with China's one child policy. With this many degrees of separation, you could link Moses with Hitler.
Question 3:
Barack Obama has said that while the Second Amendment protects an individual's right to bear arms, it also permits common-sense gun control, like gun registration, licensing and local gun bans. Others say the Second Amendment does not permit infringements such as gun registration, licensing etc. Do you agree or disagree that Second Amendment permits infringements such as those described by Obama?
Well if you read this question carefully, the "right" answer is embedded within it. Obama describes "infringements" to the second amendment, and you're supposed to decide if those are permitted by the Second Amendment? But wait, if they're "infringements" like Zogby says, then certainly they're not permissible by the Second Amendment. So the "correct" answer must be that you disagree with Obama, since you have to either choose Obama or the Constitution.
These were only the most egregious, but there were about 20 similarly worded questions that all seemed to be making the same 3 points.
