I don't like the smell of this at all people. It started this morning with this:
Harry Reid is now singing Joe's praises. He admits what Joe did was wrong, but cannot stop talking about how much Joe has done for the caucus. They are NOT going to do anything about what he did. NOTHING.

I don't have the link
he [Reid] was on CNN with John King a few minutes ago.

Then, there was this:
Dodd Says Obama Wouldn't Want Messy Fight Over Lieberman
By CHRISTOPHER KEATING | The Hartford Courant
November 8, 2008
U.S. Sen. Christopher Dodd said Friday that President-elect Obama would not want one of his party's first major post-election issues to be a messy fight over Joseph Lieberman's status as a Democrat.
Lieberman's political future is uncertain because some Democrats want to punish him for supporting Republican John McCain in the race against Obama. But Lieberman and Obama have been Democratic colleagues in the U.S. Senate for four years, Dodd noted, and Obama generally resists confrontations if a compromise can be reached.
"What does Barack Obama want?" Dodd rhetorically asked reporters Friday in Hartford. "He's talked about reconciliation, healing, bringing people together. I don't think he'd necessarily want to spend the first month of this president-elect period, this transition period, talking about a Senate seat, particularly if someone is willing to come forward and is willing to be a member of your family in the caucus in that sense."
--- [Now, here comes the really gibberish part people:]
Dodd said people need to have a broader perspective about Lieberman's future.
"The question I have to ask myself is: Joe was elected by the people of this state — independents, Republicans and Democrats," Dodd said. "Whatever anger there may exist within a party, I don't think that ought to be visited on the people of the state — and they shouldn't be asked to pay a price for people's political decisions."
WTF?? I am over here in CT, and Dodd is my Senator, and that is complete gibberish to me!
What, if Lieberman loses his committee chairmanship (or, even gets thrown out of the Senate Dem caucus, or, leaves the Dem caucus in petulant anger), like, that is bad for the people of CT how, Sen. Dodd??
Like, what "price" will the citizens of CT have to pay, Sen. Dodd??
And that is exactly what I am going to ask a senior staffer (not just some phone jockey) in Dodd's DC office on Monday.
Then, I will tell the senior Dodd staffer that if Lieberman gets off scot free here, Dodd & Obama will see a "messy fight" like you cannot believe, where the progressive blogosphere, now immensely energized and with not much to do right now, could turn its attention and its grassroots money-raising efforts to reach out and touch someone and make someone answer for letting Lieberman off the hook, maybe someone like Harry Reid?? or Dodd??
Finally, I will tell the senior Dodd staffer that Lieberman needs to be entirely expelled from the Senate Dem Caucus, not to vindictively punish Lieberman, but to protect the confidentiality of senate Dem caucus plans & strategies, because Lieberman is a GOP mole/asset who cannot be trusted, it is as simple as that.
"is willing to be a member of your family in the caucus", my ass!
Sen. Dodd, please spare us the prodigal son comes home to be forgiven crap, ok??
I'll let you know how it went people.
