Tonight I want to send out some thank yous for the wonderful cycle we had, both nationally and here in Idaho. This was a profoundly important election here. We made this red state crack.
On a personal level, I'm fired up again. It's been a long, bumpy road, but for the first time in years I feel fulfilled.
To Cecil Andrus: For getting me started down the path to public service nearly 20 years ago.
To the Green Party: For nominating me as a Congressional candidate in 2002, and then showing me why third parties suck. (And yes, that's a left-handed compliment).
To Howard Dean: For rekindling that which was lost. Your visit to Pocatello is not forgotten.
To Bill Richardson: For giving me a campaign to believe in, and for representing both Western and libertarian Democrats this cycle.
To fellow Bill Richardson supporters: Just because.
To Terry Michael: For giving a voice to our silly little faction.
To Barack Obama: For making intellect, dignity and grace hip again.
To T. J. Thomson, Kassie Cerami and everyone involved with Obama for Idaho: I don't know if you guys know yet how important this is for Idaho in the long term.
To Walt Minnick: For breaking a long, nasty streak.
And to all of you! Thank you for your unceasing enthusiasm.
Now let's do it again in '10!
