Greetings from Independence Township, New Jersey:
This is me ringing my Atoke Bell that I got in Ghana in 1995 after the Warren County War Memorial 10th Anniversary Ceremony on Saturday.
Since my father, who was a veteran and a winner of the James E. West Fellowship Award from the Boy Scouts of America, died of Progressive Supranuclear Palsy in 2003, I have been waiting to hear Amazing Grace on the bagpipes.
I finally did that day. It was wonderful.

The other half of the battle is over the fold.
This is what my father wrote about me in 1996:
He's just typical college kid in a
lot of respects but he can be passionate when he believes in a cause (like
trying to debate Wm. F. Buckley from the audience on this matter when he came to
the college to speak!).
This is what it's like in the places I love in New Jersey today:
*Montclair State newspaper apologizes for controversial comic strip
(read the comments about my Grandmother and the follow up comments that I wrote as "ErikBlaine")
*Cross burned on lawn of Obama supporters in Hardwick (NJ)
This is on the other side of the county from me, not far from where my High School social studies teacher lives.
He is Fred P. Cook, son of Fred J. Cook, authot of "The Ku Klux Klan, America's Recurring Nightmare" and 45 other very influential books and many progressive articles that influnced this country in the Alger Hiss and the Goldwater era.

Yes this is blurry, don't give up looking at it, though, please.
Yes, that is a picture of the World Trade Center and a big smile on my face. The framed photo underneath the World Trade Center is a nice rendering of the Pledge of Allegiance.
It hangs at Pronto Pizzeria in the Mansfield Plaza in my hometown, where the little league teams I and my brother were on, and my father was the coach of, held many victory parties. Elvir, the owner, is on the New Jersey Falcons. They are playing a Polish Division 1 Soccer Team in Parsippanny on November 29, 2008. I will be there showing my spirit. I hope you can be there too.
The photo is taken by Peter Kim, who works at the Flash Photo & Gallery next door. They sell many fine paintings from local artists. Many of them are from Ann Reeves. I have a series of pictures of myself ringing the same Atoke Bell in front of her renderings of Long Valley, where I grew up, and Morristown, the Military Capital of the American Revolution, where I was born in 1975, baptized in the Calvary Baptist Church on Martin Luther King Boulevard in 1998 and where I saw Aretha Franklin lead a moment of silence for Levi "Are You Man Enough?" Stubbs, singer of the Four Tops, on October 17th, 2008. I will post a link to them soon.
