AstraZeneca, maker of Crestor (rosuvastatin calcium) now claims that people with normal cholesterol are also at risk for heart attack. AstraZeneca's "study" shows that if this group has normal cholesterol but a high level of high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hsCRP), they have a higher incidence of heart attack.
AstraZeneca makes this claim even though elevated hsCRP is a marker for generalized inflammation - not just arterial and heart.
Of course, the AstraZeneca "study" didn’t address the negative side effects of lowering your cholesterol below normal levels.
In the clip, one CNBC host asks why statins are not put in the water supply. I’m not joking.
And the response? That would be a Communist plot just like fluoride.
