Yay, we won! Thank god.
As evidenced by some of the pieces I've seen here over the last week, it's obviously past time to get back to pointless disputes, meta musings and shameless self-promotion.
Guess where I'm gonna start.
Update: Effusive thanks to hairylarry for alerting me to the fact that the mp3s were embedded with the info that my GF was the artist and composer. Oops. Fixed now. (I hope.)
The Man with No Point is the name of a DailyKos user who's not been seen around much anymore. Perhaps, to the shock of many, his last GBCW really was the last. You could never be quite sure.
TMWNP is also the title of one of the cuts on my new song collection "Private Islands." The song is an ode to this joint and the fondness I have for its members, their pointless disputes, meta musings and shameless self-promotion.
The songs can be currently heard as mp3s at ye olde webbe site, LouLost.com and CDs will be out before year's end.
It's a pretty decent collection of demos and, unlike most of my work, won't offend damn near everybody. Okay, "Oprah Winfrey" will probably offend at least Oprah Winfrey.
The mp3s at the site are pretty good conversions, and will have to suffice until the discs are out. Some Safari users may have difficulty opening the mp3 pages. I've had no problems with Firefox or I.E.
Road2Go
Just a little fast blues shuffle to get you started.
Treat Me Like a Dream
A message about gifts. And people. And art.
Oprah Winfrey
Who wouldn't want to be Oprah Winfrey?
I Went Down to Mexico
Another song from a dream.
Girls Like
Conceived as a duet between Jack Black and Britney Spears.
Jane's Island
About a girl. So to speak.
History: The Ballad of George W. Bush, Pt. II
Already diaried.
The Man with No Point
I like it here.
Au Revoir
That old clock on the wall says. . .
In re: our electoral victory: While there are huge reasons to be thankful for the results of last week's triumph, we all have some personal joys in seeing our candidate and party prevail. For the first time in over eight years, I finally get to wear shirts with nothing on 'em. While it's been fun (and patriotic) having but one chest to give for my country, I'm glad to be back in black.
Still, I'll miss all those message T's. A brief look back:
This being an exercise in pure self-promo, barely diluted with a soupcon of site meta, I'm posting on a low-traffic day to avoid bumping something serious. Just in case, here are the diaries that were on the verge of falling off the "recent" list when I posted this:
Stevens defeat gives All People in U.S. a break from Sarah Palin?
The Obsolete Electoral College
McKinnell's Biography: How Your Country Pissed Away Excellence.
Overnight News Digest
Kristof: Education Not High Enough Priority For Obama?
Okay, enough about me. What do you think of my work?
Or yours?
Or anything else?
Consider this an open thread.
